Spotlight: Ruba Jampa (2nd Grade) – Golf Champion
Ruba Jampa is a Kids Connection 2nd grader who has a passion and mastery for the game of golf. On June 29, 2020, she won 1st place in the 2020 US Kids Golf Northern California State Invitational in the Girls 7 and Under age group. The week prior she won 2nd place in the 2020 US Kids Golf Nevada State Invitational. In October 2019, she took home the US Kids Golf Silver medal and the month prior placed 2nd in her division among a field of 200. Ruba shines on the golf course as a true champion.
Ruba’s love of golf started at home at the early age of three years old. She loved watching golf with her family and listening to stories from her grandfather, a golf enthusiast and skilled golfer himself. She watched golf on tv with her dad who soon after took her to the practice range where she discovered her true love for the sport. She was enrolled in golf lessons a couple years later at the age of five. She quickly progressed to competing in US Kids Golf tournaments by the age of six!
There is nothing more satisfying than a perfect swing and golf shot! Ruba never tires of the sport and it’s not uncommon to find her practicing for 5-6 hours at a stretch. She also trains with a PGA coach twice a week.
Ruba is extremely proud to be part of the KC family. While playing golf, Ruba embodies great sportsmanship, courtesy, a fair but competitive nature, and grace under pressure. She attributes these traits to her extraordinary education and time at Kids Connection.
Ruba hopes that one day she can play golf at a professional level. We look forward to seeing her on the PGA tour!
